Fun Fall Events in Albany
Posted on 09/08/2017

Now that summer is winding down, your local Albany ophthalmologist would like to recommend a few fun things to do this fall. With local pools and beaches closing down, we know that many of you will be looking for ways to spend your free time, and we think these area events may be just what’s needed to fill that void!

Clifton Park Farm Fest

The Clifton Park Farm Fest promises a weekend packed full of fun for the whole family. On September 16 and 17, area farms are open to the public for a celebration of all things farming! You can pack up the whole gang and head out for some interesting farm tours, apple picking, horse rides, country food, festive music, and more! This is a drive-it-yourself fall tour you won’t want to miss as it’s a great way to support our farmer friends!

Adirondack Balloon Festival

If you love hot air balloons (and who doesn’t?) then it will be well worth your time to make the trip up to Glens Falls & Queensbury between Thursday, Sept 21 and Sunday, Sept 24 for the 45th Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival. There will be hundreds of balloons taking flights in all shapes, sizes, and colors. You can watch from the ground as they take off, or take a ride in one yourself for a one-of-a-kind, viewing experience you’ll never forget!

Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival

The fun-filled Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival is taking place on September 16 and 17 at the Altamont Fairgrounds. This is a great festival to take your kids to as there will be many fun things to do like face & pumpkin painting, clowns, jugglers, pony rides, a petting zoo, and lots more! Adults are sure to have just as much fun as there will be a craft show on-site with over 100 exhibitors, a car show on Saturday, and wine tasting and sales which will feature some of New York’s best wineries. When it’s time to eat, just take the whole gang over to the food court and dig into some great eats!

LarkFEST

One event that you won’t want to miss this fall is LarkFest, New York’s largest one-day street festival that’s taking place on September 23. There will be many merchants on hand selling everything from clothing to handmade crafts. You can enjoy a wide variety of live music and entertainment, including some of the best regional bands. This is an event that draws tens of thousand of people so mark your calendars so you won’t miss out on all the fun!

Troy Chowderfest

The 11th Annual Troy Chowderfest is taking place on Sunday, Oct 8 from 12 noon until 4 pm. This is a great opportunity to taste some of the best local chowders. With over 30 restaurants competing for best chowder, you’re sure to enjoy every last spoonful! Plus, everyone who samples all the chowders gets to cast their vote for the People’s Best local chowder so arrive with an empty stomach so you can try all the many varieties!

Your Albany ophthalmologist and the whole team at Brass Eye Center hope many of you will make it out to these local fall events that are sure to be great fun!
