What to Bring for Your First Visit

When you come in for an appointment with your eye doctor, we ask you to bring a couple of things. These are:

●      Your current eyeglasses or contact lenses, if you have any

●      Any previous eye exam records you have

●      A list of the medications you’re taking

●      Your insurance information

It’s also recommended to bring sunglasses or a wide-brimmed hat to shield your eyes from the sun. Some of our tests will require us to dilate your pupils, which will make your eyes sensitive to the light and distort your vision slightly. This is normal though and it should subside in a few hours.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your initial visit with us will last approximately one to two hours. We’ll record your medical history and information and then perform all of the tests we need to get a complete view of your ocular health. After the tests are done, we will discuss the results with you as well as any treatment options if those are necessary. We believe that open communication is a key part toward building a relationship between doctor and patient. We promise to speak candidly with you about our diagnosis and recommendations.
